I went with my family which included my 6 months old daughter. The best part of the hotel was the staff. Everybody was well behaved and ready to serve you. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained. The first two rooms in the 1st floor and 2nd floor are the best. The lawn is very good, you can spend the whole day loitering around. Small children will just love it as they have a small park also. However the restaurant did not have most of the listed items, but whatever they could provide was well cooked (tasty).
But if you prebook from the Kolkata office then ask if there is any package booking at the hotel during your stay. AVOID IT. Different organizations, offices book the hotel for a day or two for conferences followed by functions which are arranged on the lawn. So for that day (specially evening) you will have no access to the lawn. The restaurant will also be occupied by them. And the worst part is the so called function that they have. It's just CHAOS IN THE HEAVEN.
It will spoil the serenity, the charm of the place & your trip. The lady at the Kolkata booking office is very clever and will not inform you of any such thing, but you have to get it out of her. I would definitely recommend Hotel Dreamland provided there is no other package booking.

This was my 8th tour of Mandarmani. I already fell in love with that place. But this was my first stay at Hotel Dreamland. .
The planning of the hotel rooms was so good that from every room we can see the waves. The rooms were neat and clean and the service was very good. The guy who served us was one of the most well behaved guy I ever saw in my life. Well behaved, well mannered and good at his work. He helped me in getting a pack of cigarette during the high tide.
When we were to leave, the high tide was already in effect and we had to walk through the tide to get to a place where we can get a car. A guy from the hotel helped me carry my luggage through the water.. and believe me the water level was quite high. I loved the hotel and their service and I would always recommend to stay at the hotel. If possible at the 3rd or the 2nd floor.
